About this project
Film Nomads approached me to provide an animation for the promo video of the new Segway Ninebot KickScooter E22. It wasn’t the first time that they shot these kind commercials for Segway, but this time they could add in a little extra and they opted for a 3D animation.
The animation gives an “inside look” into the technology of the foam-filled tires. The goal was to create a clear representation that fits the style of the entire video and that shows the functionality of the foam, when the tire runs over a nail and does not break.
Renders
I modeled the band based on available photo and video material. I then animated this and matched it over the image with camera tracking. The footage shot was not yet created with the addition of a 3D animation in mind. To create more freedom in the shot, I therefore placed the 3D model over the entire physical band. Then I continued the camera movement in the 3D scene.
